ABOUT ME
Hi there. I'm a freelance designer, visualiser, modeller and self builder. I work from home in the somerset countryside, where
we moved in 2017 from the depths of Bracknell's suburbia and haven't looked back.
My wife & I brought our daughter out west when she was 2.5.
We bought an old stone barn with a small field and lived in a static caravan onsite for two years (remember the beast from
the East?) while we designed & built the home we now live in. The build went relatively well and our home is warm, dry and doesn't move in windy weather. However I suspect it will never be "finished"...
My office is a summerhouse that looks out over the field, resident chickens and our four sheep. I mostly use VectorWorks and Cinema4D, some Strata 3DCX even AutoCAD once in a while. Although my degree is in Industrial design I have served over 20 years in the exhibition industry.
More recently I have been working within the local community for local charities and the Pre-School with logos, signage and web design along with Architectural visuals for homeowners
and a learning facility.
Building our house has helped as a remedy to the transient nature of exhibitions, with something of more permanence. I have made the plans for the planning proposal produced the 3D model and we project managed the entire build. It's not quite a 'Grand Design' but it has been a fantastic project that we now get to live in.
